Torah Math
The name of this week’s Parsha is Va’era, meaning and I appeared (to Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov). We are taught that the exodus from Egypt was in the merit of Yitzchak. This is because Yitzchak, even during a hunger, never left the land of Israel. In doing so, he acquired (help on to) the right for us to return there after the slavery in Egypt. Therefore, in his merit, we were able to be taken out and brought up to Israel. The story of the exodus begins in this Parsha.
Coincidentally, the numeric value of the word וארא is the same as! יצחק Nifty!!!
